                        Emergency Preparedness for Home Care

    Events of recent years have heightened awareness across all health care sectors of the
    following needs:

  • Engaged and invested provider management and staff;
  • Comprehensive, drilled, evaluated and updated emergency response plans;
  • Established, redundant methods of communication;
  • Understanding within each community of the strengths, weaknesses, roles, and
    responsibilities of each organization that leads to planning and collaboration among
    all community partners; and
  • Public education, especially vulnerable populations and preparedness.

    On a community level, successful mitigation, response  and recovery efforts from any
    emergency rests in the ability of all community partners to plan and work together in a
    common effort.

    This website is designed to support collaborative planning and contains pages for all the
    elements that have stake in emergency preparedness for home care - providers, staff,
    patients, and collaborating organizations, including emergency managers.
